nutrient solutions advice

OK I've been looking on line and there are a million hydro solutions. Could you guys recommend an organic one that is good and has a low chance of burn. If you have pics to show results that would be great.

I've been using Fox Farm nutes with okay results but I'm still seeing problems (I do not blame the nutes, it's my water that's the problem).

Stoneth, aren't you an advocate of the flora series? How does that line work out for you? Is there even a need for the grow since the bloom offers the majority of the N? Thanks.

Well flora series, and Maxi are both great products.
I prefer the floranova myself.
I also prefer and seem to have happier plants using the veg nutes.
Tho there is no doubt that the lucas formula works great.

But with the GH lines you have to be careful not to use to much or you'll cook the fuck out of your plants.  They're not as forgiving as the botanicare line.

I was just doing some reading and am very interested in the FloraNova series now. So you use the grow during veg and bloom during flower? I've heard 60bloom/40grow for veg was a good ratio. Do you use any supplements with this line up? I'm thinking of switching to the floranova series and using liquid karma, protekt and I'll have cal-mag on retainer in case of deficiencies.

I run the floranova grow at 4 to 5mls per gallon around 300 to 1000pmms.
The first three weeks of flowering I run 50/50 grow and bloom.  Switching to just bloom from then to flush.
As for supplements, additives, and boosters I like hydrozyme, floralious plus, silica blast, magiccal, and liquid/dry koolbloom.

I really don't understand you, in your other thread you said you are going to be participating in a large scale grow, yet you don't even know about harvesting indicators.  So this is where you should start.

Grow Guide

This is one of the best books for beginners.  There are some things stated in it that are debatable, or down right wrong, but they are few and far between.  Buy this book and read it front to back.

Then buy this book

Ed Rosenthal

And read it front to back.

I aim for seven tho some plants make me wait 10 to 14 days.  It's all about the trichs for me.

I also recommend those books hawk's mentioned.

Well if you just under feed you won't burn with anything, at least not until you are over feeding.
I may be all wrong about this, but isn't it kind of pointless going organic and hydro together? at least I don't see how you could go organic if the roots are just going to be exposed to air and water. I was under the impression that the micro life living in soil is largely responsible for PH and nutrient uptake control. It's supposed to be hard to burn with organic, but only because there's a lot of shit happening in the soil to control the flow of nutrients.

Thanks for the information, Stone. I'm trying to decide on a few supplements myself but I don't see some being as effective as others. So if you could only keep two of those, which ones would it be?

This is true.  I only said what I said because it's one of the most common newb mistakes.  It's damn near impossible to burn plants with the botanicare product.  But can happen all to easy with product like GH lines.

You do realize this happens in soil also?  I mean rather it be soil or hydro roots need and will be exposed to water and air.
AS for the rest of your post I'm not the right guy to get into all that.
I'm not even going to pretend to know how nutes differ in how they work between hydro and soil.  Someone smarter than me will have to help ya there.

I've pretty much decided to back out of that project. I may help but I don't think Ican work with the partners. I understand the harvest indicators I just have always been a dirt farmer.
I have read the marijuana cultivater back years ago. I am currently digesting the marijuana growers bible. Most of the info I already know its the hydro stuff I haven't worked with.
