I transplanted an Afghan kush x yumbolt 8 days ago and watered it today for the first time since the transplant. I checked the runoff and it was almost 1400 PPM.
Isn't that way too high for a small plant that's still in veg? The plant looks as healthy as can be but the PPM is worrying me...should I flush it anyway?
Well the soil probably has nutrients in it. So anything in there could show up in the run off. But the problem with trying to measure that in the runoff, is that nutrients that are in the soil react differently than nutrients that are in the bottle. Nutrients from the bottle are immediately available, but soil nutrients TEND to be a little slower releasing. Stop being worried about the PPM of the runoff. I have NEVER measured it, and never will.
