I'm just midway+ through my first grow, which isn't hydroponic, but what I gather is that the best method is from moist paper towel to rockwool then the beest thing to do is keep them in something that traps humidy until roots are showing and then into a functioning hydroponic system.

You technically don't need to change the pot(transplant) ever, and I don't think you do in hydroponics, depending on the method. I'd guess the roots will just grow as big as they have something to grab and the right amount of moisture/water.

Hong kong has a shitload of cheap tds testers, but I don't trust them to show up. Sunleaves has a cheap one.

I think potentially any plant can be topped, but some respond better than other for yield. I feel ya on the head spinning thing. Only rece ntly after 6 or 7 months daily reading am I starting to understand nutrients. Really you don't need much unless doing a specialty grow. All you technically need(for soil at least) is plant food, and flowering food. like J R Peters - Jack's classic All purpose 20-20-20, and Jack's Classic Blossom booster 10-30-20 Just the 2 alone does better than some 10+ bottle systems I have read. Though you would need to get Jack's hydroponic water soluble fertilizer in your case, which I know nothing about. I'd say add some earthworm castings and bat guano or other organic source of Endo Mycorrhizae if you have the money to. I have read guano is some good shit.

Btw a way to learn about hydroponic nute lines is to read their feeding charts and try to find an opposing companies equivalent. I think that can help get a better grasp of what you need, as far as buying a shitload of bottles goes. A lot of brands have 3 products that = 1 of another brand. Try to get a grasp of what they are and do.

As far as shroomery and growerty... I don't think there is as much outdated info for cannabis cultivation as there is for mushroom cultivation. There's also a shit load more money put into horticultural research(in general) than there is put into mushroom cultivation, so shroomery.org is one of the forefronts of info on the relatively brand new hobby of worldwide mushroom cultivation. I haven't noticed much difference in general cultivation info for cannabis 20 years ago to now in written guides. However a lot of information has been added, and maybe a few small things are outdated or have potential to be obsolete. I think more research needs to go into green light at night, and using red light at the end of a day cycle.

This wasn't much help probably =P

Why does everyone try to be so complicated, Plant your seed in your bucket, sprout, grow! Sweetness. When you transplant you have a good chance of messing up the micro roots. Just my :2cents:
