Did I F my FIM?

Allo.
Just wondering if I have buggered up my FIM (first-ever attempt).
The first shot is the before, the second shot is the after, and the third shot is what it looks like three days later.
Let me know what you guys and girls think, as I'm pretty close to flicking to flower. I know it's only a little plant but I'm using it to learn with.
Cheers

Looks like you needed to go a little lower cause it looks like only the tips of the leaves got cut.

Ah fark. Ah well, all a learning process I guess! So I'm guessing I should be aiming for halfway between my two attempts for the perfect FIM?
I need to go to flower in the next few days on this sucker, so how long should I give it to recover from the shock before flicking to 12/12? I'm guessing two or three days.
Thanks for the help everyone, you're a good bunch here at the Growery.

You got a little low on the second stroke but it still may work.
You may want to wait a few weeks before flowering. One of the things you want to learn is if your gonna break the law get something for your effort.
That and if your gonna finish the plant the whole way threw flowering why spend 8 weeks growing 2 hours worth of smoke.

Yea, I'd give them at least a few weeks to recover from the FIM too (as a general guideline), or at least until a few days after they started vigorously growing again like nothing's happened.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will give the lady a few days and see if she recovers and take it from there.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of yield do you think I could get off a little plant like that? It's an AMS strain. If I got half an ounce I'd be pretty happy to be honest.

Cheers for the tip. The problem is I gotta harvest round Xmas absolute latest, no later ... so I have to go to flower soonish. I got a proper plant I'm growing full size, but this one is just for fun. Still, maybe I can squeeze a little more veg out of it!

When you flower a plant that's still recovering from shock or sickness the plant is going to use it's allotted flowing time to recover before it even flowers and you lose yield. That's why it's recommended to let the plants fully recover while vegetating before inducing flowering.

It may have been addressed or disputed many times before, but I just wanted to mention that in the book "how to grow elite marijuana this is said. They seem to suggest not cutting any leaves. I have no experience with fim btw.
"This next photo is a decent graphical image that has been floating around the cannabis cultivation community for quite some time, but it is wrong. Where is says "FIMM cut location" Is NOT where you want to cut! First you want to gently spread the tiny "new set of fan leaves" out of the way, find the actual growing tip, and then make then nip it out. Only then can you be sure you a pruning out the growing tip, while at the same time preserving the surrounding growth"

FIM is a waste of time and effort anyways. It's much easier to just top and LST in combination with eachother. You will end up with better results.
