I wanted to make a bonsai mom and cut ut most of the leaves and left the main stem recover. It did not recover and is now brownish and very easily bendable. Is this some kind of fungal infection? Can this be fixed?
Stem rot your mother plant is doomed but you can re-clone the mother plant and it will be just as potent. Just follow the normal cloning procedure. But use a fungicide to prevent stem rot in the future.
BTW the cause of stem root rot in rockwool is over watering, in a flood and drain system you should never submerge more then one third of a cube and the watering cycle should never be longer then ten minutes, also watering cycles should be at least two hours apart.
