They can still do well. What do you mean root side up? The tap root should be to the bottom of the container.

Umm...nah. Bad advice. Especially with it that long. Is the top part all the way down in the soil then? because that needs to be able to break through the surface.

Dam he buried that fucker. They might even die. Me , i would carefully break up the soil and replant it man the right way.
