Ok I live in a suburb of Dallas TX so good genetics are not easy to find here. That said I happen to have quite a collection of very good genetics in both seed and clone form as I've been growing for over 20 years.
My wife met this girl at college her and her boy friendand they have a very large commercial operation with over ten thousand watts of flowering space but they have crap for genetics. They make a bunch of money growing mediocre weed. So I have some very nice Grand Daddy Purple in both clone and seed form that they saw and they asked if I wanted to trade them clones. Since I was not interested in the strains they have (shoreline and hash queen) I said I would trade for some hash that they make. So just tonight they wanted to make a trade so I said that I would give them an established granddaddy purp plant about 18 inches tal that you could clone off immediately for 5 grams of hash that they sell for about $20/gram. They declined and said that 5 grams of hash was too much to pay for a GDP clone mother plant. I won't part with it for less, am I fucked up or are they crazy or what? I mean this is Dallas Texas and they stand to make tens of thousands of dollars off the strain having literally 10,000 watts of flowering space. I mean whats your opinion on this?

I think they're crazy.
Think about it this way - if they were smart or just wanted to improve their operation, they could get better genetics by simply ordering seeds or taking a little trip further west to get seeds or cuts.
To me, it sounds like they're lazy & a little greedy - in it for the money instead of love of the plant. Or maybe I'm just being a b--- tonight.
Besides, just like your plant probably didn't cost you a full $120, they're hash didn't cost them that much either.

Yeah they seem to be very lazy and greedy but they are my wife's friends so I felt weird.
I do some breeding too and offered them seeds to test and they were not interested at all.
Thanx I just wanted to bounce it off some other folks, now I don't feel so bad.
