 Few opium questions

Hey all, I am wanting to grow some poppy's and I read about making it into tea, and a smokable product, but I am wondering how to make it more of an edible product.
I would like to put it into some gelcaps I have lying about (I used to make cannacaps, but no longer smoke or have any smoke in general).
Anyone have some good tips on safe dosing after making the processed goop?

Easy. dry the pods. Then crush/ grind em up (put seeds to the side). Then put em it in capsules and start poppin
that or u could try and extract it into a pod puddy, and put that in caps

You can just boil opium filter and evaporate and eat the product
