I got 3 ladies in full bloom and my house smells of the obvious aroma. I have a grow brite carbon scrubber in the grow room and I have all kinds of airfresheners around the the basement. What shoud I do? probably should just vent it outside in the summer, huh?

Well, it's for use with 6 in. ducting. The room is 48 cubic ft. 464 c ft. fan pulling from outside room through filter first, then light then out through fan.

Well, regardless, I would change it so that the carbon scrubber isn't hooked up to the venting. I prefer it to just recirculate the air within the grow room itself.

Yeah that's tiny. You shouldn't have any issues getting rid of that odor with that high of a CFM filter.

So I was thinking, would it be beneficial to get another carbon filter and push the exhaust through it? So it will pull through one filter through the light out the fan and through another filter.

Why spend more money? Just run the current one you have to filter out the stinky air.

Sorry man, I'm new at this and I thought that's what the damn thing was supposed to be doing, lol. Anyway, for now I made some modifications and am sending the exhaust outside. I seriously don't know what I'm doing wrong or maybe got a bad filter? Who knows.

I'm seeing alot of shitty reviews on the growbright carbon filters so maybe it's just shit? People seem to like the CAN filters, maybe I should check that out. Those things aren't cheap though, I think I'll just exhaust outside for now and see how the odor dissipates in the fresh air.

Maybe this is a stupid question but are you blowing through the filter or sucking air through the filter?

He was sucking through the filter.
And yeah, I haven't looked at that particular brand of air filter. But it could definitely be a shitty filter.
And yeah the Can and Phresh Air brands are expensive. But they work.

What fan are you running with your filter? A lot of online/ebay hydro shops are selling duct booster fans with their carbon filters and touting them as inline blowers when they are not really for that purpose. Yeh and grow brite filters are bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes.

I got all my stuff from HTG supply, I didn't get a combo fan filter, the fan is awesome (424 cft), it sucks about the filter because $80 isn't really all that cheap. I'll be checking into the Can or Phresh filters.

Well lets look at this another way.
You try and save some money and buy an inferior odor controlling product. Lets say you saved about a hundred bucks, going off the of the listing price of a 6 inch Phresh. That cheaper one doesn't control the odor, now not only do you still have to buy the good one and end up spending a total of 250. You also run the added risk of being busted, or ripped off.

Yes 6" can filters or phresh filters cost roughly double that, but depending on what state you are in would you really risk your freedom for $80-$100? I guess it really varies on your location, but some states are still handing out felonies for possession.

Oh, I completely agree with you guys. I didn't shop around at all, I just got all my shit at one place and had no idea that I got a cheap inferior filter, I'm not trying to really cut cost with cheap shit, I just didn't know any better. I will be getting a Can or Phresh soon, I have a temporary set up exhausting outside and my grow is small enough to not be a big deal for aroma outside. It's way more of a problem for me to have my house stinking. Thanks guys, I always appreciate your advice!

Just ordered a 6" Phresh filter from RVF Garden Supply, I couldn't find one bad review on these and apparently they last quite awhile. I can't wait til it gets here.

Good Choice!! I've had my Phresh Filter for 3 years now. It's not working nearly as well as it was in the beginning, at full flower my house will stink a little, but I never have anyone over that isn't already in the know. I will definitely go with them again.
