Soil Growers:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seed
2. How old are your plants? 8 weeks
3. How tall are your plants? 14 inches
4. What size containers are they planted in? 3 gallon
5. What is your soil mix? BM8 - greenhouse soil less mix
6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use and how much you give per watering? 1000ml of tap water every 48 hours
7. What is the pH of your water? 8.5
8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? Miracle grow liquid concentrate (dont hate its excellent stuff) 12-4-8
9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? Never
10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? CFL 5x23w=115w total
11. How close are your lights to the plants? 6 inches
12. What size is your grow space in square feet? 2
13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? Temp=76-80 dunno humidity i dont have a meter
14. What is the pH of the soil? 8.5
15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No sir
16. How much experience do you have growing? 5years outdoors both in pot and in ground. less than 1year indoor.

Im 4 days into flowering, not that it should matter because i noticed this before switchin lights anyway but thought id mention it. I started noticing a few lower fan leaves going yellow. The whole leaf just went a pale yellow colour. There are a few that have slightly browned tips. Its mostly old fan leaves, but there is one spot where the new growth is affected as well. I think its iron and nitrogen defficiency, and maybe phosphorous as well, all on account of high PH causing lock out. Does that seem reasonable?

There's a few issues here.  A liter of of water for 3 gallons is a bit light.  I would go with at least a gallon of water.  Then, let's look at your nutrient.  I will hate, because miracle grow really isn't "good stuff", but i get the feeling that we can't change your mind on that so let's move on.

Yes that pH is WAY too high.  Especially if that's what you have been feeding it regularly.  Also I think that they could have a touch of burn, since you have the burnt tips.

So here's the diagnoses, overfert and pH issues.  Flush with distilled water, check the pH of it though, just in case.  At least 9 gallons of water per container.

umm, says a soiless mix? shouldent that get a low ph? round 6 or close to it?

I can't even find the product he's talking about.  But I would say no.  I doubt it's something like pure coco coir.

I know 1 litre sounds low but when i water the soil is fully saturated and starts pooring out the bottom after 1 litre. It might not be a 3gallon pot, Im canadian I use litres and such. Its 6inch across 8inch tall.

I should have mentioned I feed once a week and am not using those particular nutes right now. I have switched to a 5-20-10 since switching the lights. I will buy better nutes for my next rip, although I have used miracle grow for flowers, veggies, cannabis, succulents, tropicals etc and never had any problem. As long as its a water soluble fertilizer and not their time release shit. And their soil is garbage. It always has contaminants in it.

I get my soil from my schools greenhouse. We use it for dam near everything that goes through there. Components include 75% coarse peat moss, 15% perlite, 5% vermiculite, and 7% compost.

Zombi,
That grow medium is pretty close to ProMix with the exception of the compost. I run my ph at 6.3 on the number and it normally drifts up a little throughout the grow. If you are running at 8.5, you are probably getting over 9 on the runoff. In my humble opinion that is waaaaay too high for soilless. I have a feeling you are going to have some serious lockout pretty soon if you don't get that corrected. Not to jump in to your thread but I hate to see you loose your ladies.

Best of luck bro.
