I'm sitting outside smoking cigarettes and drinking a couple Ice House EDGE's (24oz. - 8% alc. - $1.29 at the gas station down the street - taste better than Steel Reserve), freezing my balls off, and twitching (subconscious reaction to build friction and raise body heat) when I realize that I can just put my overheating laptop on my thighs (aaahhhh) and sit comfortably long enough to make this post.
What is you's guys' top choices for cost effective getting (and not gagging through every swig) drunk on the cheapskies?
I've had beyond my fair share of the High Life (just can't seem to get a buzz off of it), but Southpaw (available at most Wal-Marts) brews are one of my favorites. Around $6 for a twelve-pack and they actually taste like a well crafted beer. Plus, every bottle has a different image of a kangaroo in some different zany situation.
For real booze, I'm pretty fond of Don Q silver rum at about $9 for a liter.
Any other frugal alkies up in the club?

Ho, ho, ho, I'm as strong a beer connoisseur as any mother fucker in this place. I'm just at a point in my life right now where I go through periods of being immensely (modestly) rich and abhorrently poor every couple of years or so. Investments are a fickle bitch and when it comes time to buckle down my beer budget is one of the first things to suffer.
What kind of hobsnob are you personally into lately?
I fucking love Dogfish's relatively new line of 'artesian' brews. At about $9-14 a bottle they're kind of pricey but exuberantly resplendent with flavor and potency

Now you're speaking my language. My most recent enhancers are the Russian River Brewery offerings...specifically their Consecration, Damnation, and of course Pliny the Elder.

Never tried any of those, but I've heard a lot of good about the Pliny. Ever tried Delerium Tremens or Delerium Noctornum?

I've had the Tremens which I really enjoy, Belgian style beers are my favorites for sure.
