Well Ive been on methadone for 2 years now and it is one of the biggest regrets of my life. Shit is evil, Anyway I took my last dose yesterday at 7am its almost 9am now. I have an appointment to switch over to suboxone tomm at noon. I have to be in withdrawl from methadone otherwise I will be thrown into precipitated withdrawls which is total hell. so I have to make it until noon tomm. I dont think today will be too hard, but ive read all sorts of conflicting reports. Anybody ever transitioned from methadone to suboxone? I only plan to be on suboxone for a 6 week period to fully get the methadone out of my system, then drop off everything all together and be sober for the first time in over 5 years. Just did a 5 mile ride on my Exercise bike and It made me feel pretty good, its all about getting those endorphins going again...and I'm rambling...Inverted needs to wake the fuck up and take me to get weed. I would drive myself but....
Inverted was riding shotgun too, I'm thanking my lucky stars the tree dident hit his door. FUCK!!!

Good luck man. That is going to be a rough journey. The suboxone should help though, I have always thought subs were more effective than methadone.

Ya too bad I could too. I always collected the drops that were left in my take home bottles...well I have like 100mg saved up sitting in front of me. I gota flush this shit while I still got the power.

I figure if I can get on sub I should have no problem getting sober. My entire problem with beating my addiction was I couldent get past the heroin withdrawl. I did a few times but then I started shooting and the withdrawls got to a point where I would always relapse before I was done with withdrawl. so I can feel the pain and anxiety creeping up on me. I should have some weed if inverted will wake up, and I got 2, 1mg k-pins I can take too. Come on, 26 more hours....

My cousin went to a program for her abuse of OC and then she was on methadone for like 6 months and now she's been on suboxone, kpins, and some mood stabilizer for about 3 months..?
I think she's hooked on the subs now but if she kicks then I know that she'll prolly need the kpins for a long time, she has really bad anxiety.

suboxone doesnt really have any withdrawals IME
she should get off the k-pin and take something non-addictive like hydroxyzine. it doesnt fuck you up but its effective at helping people sleep and killing off anxiety

I had no anxiety problems before abusing opiates, I bet if she gets clean and her endorphin levels return to normal her anxiety will subside.

Well I'm doing alot better than I thought I would be at this point. I ate that kpin and it made me pass out for a few hours which was nice. But my legs are hurting to the core...like I have bone cancer or some shit, stupid fucking drug. They need to abolish methadone program with suboxone around. well around 19 hours to go....I can do it...I can do it.

Yes exercise is a huge part of recovery, when you start abusing opiates your brain literally stops producing its own natural pain killers called endorphins. This is why the withdrawl for opiates are so bad, we have no endorphins in your brain, exercise kick starts the endorphin production, this is what is commonly refereed to as the "runners high". So yes, Im doing 3, 15 minute workouts on an Exercycle 3 times a day. about 3.5 miles per time. I'm feeling those good vibes, keep that shit coming!
Here is some technical shit somebody posted awhile back.
β-endorphin is released into blood from the pituitary gland and into the spinal cord and brain from hypothalamic neurons. The β-endorphin that is released into the blood cannot enter the brain in large quantities because of the blood-brain barrier so the physiological importance of the β-endorphin that can be measured in the blood is far from clear. β-endorphin is a cleavage product of pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) which is also the precursor hormone for adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH). The behavioural effects of β-endorphin are exerted by its actions in the brain and spinal cord, and probably the hypothalamic neurons are the major source of β-endorphin at these sites. In situations where the level of ACTH is increased (e.g. Cushing’s Syndrome), the level of endorphins also increases slightly.
β-endorphin has the highest affinity for the μ1 opioid receptor, slightly lower affinity for the μ2 and δ opioid receptors and low affinity for the κ1 opioid receptors. μ opioid receptors are the main receptor through which morphine acts. Classically, μ opioid receptors are presynaptic, and inhibit neurotransmitter release; through this mechanism, they inhibit the release of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, and disinhibit the dopamine pathways, causing more dopamine to be released. By hijacking this process, exogenous opioids cause inappropriate dopamine release, and lead to aberrant synaptic plasticity, which causes addiction. Opioid receptors have many other and more important roles in the brain and periphery however, modulating pain, cardiac, gastric and vascular function as well as possibly panic and satiation, and receptors are often found at postsynaptic locations as well as presynaptically.

Many thanks friend, I just got done spending about 3 hours in the fetal position in the shower...I fell asleep last night and woke up in a panic attack and kinda freaked out bounced off the walls and decided I needed to be in the shower....I dunno, being in the shower has this weird ability to make me feel normal...but after 3 hours my core temp gets soooo hot I just had to get the fuck out I was like dieing of thirst. Well its 10am, I got my appointment at noon. Ive been reading all sorts of different shit about how long your suppose to wait before you get swith to sub... some say 24 hours, some say 96... official website says 48-96
I'm pretty confident I'm in withdrawl enough. I dunno fuck
when I get to my appointment it will be 53 hours since my last dose of methadone. Which isn't really saying shit with the long half-life of Meth-a-fuck-yer-life-'done. Well I feel pretty shitty, but I know I'm just getting a taste of what I could be feeling, but I expected to be in a lot worse shape than this right now. Last time I tried to kick I couldn't sit in front of a computer for 2 seconds lets alone type a sentence. Meow, must be those heady vibes I'm catchin'. Thanks all.

do not dwell on what it might be like, this is just one of those things that will work against your recovery. just one day at a time(i know you have heard all of this before) but if you keep thinking it is going to get worse then you are just hurting your self and creating more anxiety to deal with. work out some more and remember to breath deeply and just let your body melt into relaxation. find a calm peaceful place in your mind(i use a place in the middle of the woods I used to go as a kid) and let your sense go there too. I can hear the breeze, the water of the river next to it, the sound of birds and insects moving about in their daily care free lives. the smells of the grass and trees. you will make it you will make it you will make it, it will get better I promise it will get better just stick out this part and it will get better

I'm Just worried the doc is going to tell me im not in withdrawl enough. and that I need to wait another 24 hours, and another 24 hours so the point where you get the worst withdrawls. I know this is all negative thinking and im probably manifesting my own fears here. ok, from what ive read and how I feel, I think I should be ok. I can do and will do this. There really is no 2nd or 3rd chance after this, I fail here and Im living under a bridge. Parents have put up with me so much longer than they should have.

GOOD NEWS! the transiton to suboxone has been fine so far. I was far enough into withdrawl to start taking sub and was giving 24mg and told to come back tomm. I took 8mg and was instructed to take the rest only if I need it. He then tells me he wants me to be on the program for at least 6 months, which I think is a fucking scam to get him money because these fagit ass suboxone doctors only accept cash for some god damn reason. Some piece of shit shrink decides he could make a nice buck if he got a suboxone cert so he does and has no idea wtf he is doing. Ahh thx doc.
Anyway I was like no 6 weeks max, hes like well if you go off that soon your gona relapse... I was like listen here, I went on methadone 2 years ago and cut all ties with that scene. Ive known for awhile that I was ready to quit and I know I'm not going to use again, Ive had it in front of me, and Ive had those shitty Mexican drug dealers call offering free shit if I come back and said FUCK YOU. Oh ya so the sub seems to be working and I got some medicine man x Mr nice guy or some shit from a super awesome friend of mine who even gave it on the front.
So ya im doing it my way, 6 week taper.

Hey lucid,
I read your whole thread and I got to say to you buddy, I am hear for you!
Think of it as a good situation, you can deal with some pain- look at it as a good experiment of the human condition. You can just try to chill and be happy with the drugs you have and whatever the fuck you want!
Listen yourself over the doctor, the truth is inside.
Suffering is always misleading, it always seems so much worse than it is when you are experiencing. I know from experience. I am healing from my OCD and trying to work on my drug situation.
Keep on with all the good stuff and be happy!

Think of it as a good situation, you can deal with some pain- look at it as a good experiment of the human condition. You can just try to chill and be happy with the drugs you have and whatever the fuck you want!
Listen yourself over the doctor, the truth is inside.
Suffering is always misleading, it always seems so much worse than it is when you are experiencing. I know from experience. I am healing from my OCD and trying to work on my drug situation.
Keep on with all the good stuff and be happy!

No offense Fracta, but thats nonsense when it comes to addiction. Take it from somebody that has suffered delerium tremens more than once, when you are suffering from that affliction, it is most definitely as bad as it seems, and worse. It's impossible to get a grasp on this until you experience it, and you should do everything in your power to never have to..

I think you misunderstood me. For instance, if see someone worrying about a job or something, you might say- "He shouldn't be worrying, it will soon pass... life is just a grand illusion" but when you are actuall the jobless one it is much harder to shrug it off.

The growery literally had more influence on me quitting than any external stimuli in my real life... 
I was able to talk about my addiction here without feeling judged, and the support I received was more than enough to make me feel cared for and not-so-worthless. It really picked me up and made me begin to love myself again (low self esteem).
Good work man, I know it's tough but just keep thinking about our outdoor crop and you should go to your happy place...

After I quit I became a jaded drunk. After that I just became jaded. It sure beats being a slave to a drug though.

Ya Ive been off the methadone for a week now and the transition to suboxone seems to have gone pretty well considering most people go with 24mg a day for awhile, and I chose to not go past 8mg, But I DEFINITELY feel the methadone leaving my body, and I guess I will for the next 3-4 weeks. Then in about 5 weeks I go off the sub and hope for the best. But since I crashed my rents car I'm of course not allowed to ever drive their cars again. Which fucking sucks because I live in the middle of nowhere and Inverted doesn't have his own car either....Sitting at home alone all day is depressing.
Feeling very depressed these days, nothing makes me happy. I do a 30 minute, 8 mile ride on my exercise cycle every morning and that seemed to help at first but I think as more of the methadone leaves me I'm feeling more and more symptoms and depression is a big one. I cant even play video games, watch TV/movies...non of the shit makes me happy even if I'm super baked! I'm just hoping this part of kicking ends soon...

Maybe bike more places should be good for you and will replace a car.
Things will get better!
Be happy...
Try some shrooms maybe or some DMT to break your habits.
