Scrubber in or out? any advise Whats better

Well folks I am getting ready to start my new led grow and here is the setup. I have a 32x32x62 tent. I will be useing CLW 400Watt Solar storm that I got threw the GFP. I also have an inline 4inch fan and a phresh filter that is 4x12.
Here is my question. Right now I have the filter in the tent with the duct running outside the tent connected to my fan which is pulling air! Should I leave it that way or put the filter and fan outside the tent? I mean I have room inside the tent but when the light gets higher as the plants grow the light/filter will be right next to each other!. Should I keep it that way ? Is the better to have the scrubber inside the tent? What do you think I should do?
I will be starting a grow log in the next few days to show all you what the 400watt solar storm can do. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ANSWERS

If you have it inside, and there will be room for it, just leave it alone. Having the filter inside or outside the tent is just a matter of space and personal preference (as long as your fan is pulling air through the filter and not trying to push it).

You always want to pull through the filter, but the fan should be attached directly to the filter for the best efficiency.

there is no way I could fit the fan and filter in there. from what i know online you always wanna have the scrubber inside the tent thats why i set it up like I did. I was just unsure if it would work. I am crammed into this space and have about 1/2 inch clearence above me tent. so thats why its set up like it is

forgot to add... it is pulling the air threw the filter

I think that I may be constrained on the issue, as I cannot duct the air after the filter, and I duct my exhaust to the outside. So, I also have my DIY filter inside my tent.
Good luck OP,
JD

I read a post some time ago from Coda In the post he talks about how its actually better to push air vs sucking it r
In what sense was talking about? Because as far as CFM's, it' more efficient to pull through the filter.

Well there could be a number of variables as to why you started having cooler temperature. What you're seeing is called anecdotal evidence.
Was the filter at the bottom of the tent, thereby sucking the cooler air on the bottom of your space, not efficiently cooling your tent. And then when you moved your filter to the outside of the tent you started sucking air straight out of your hood, sucking the warmer air from the top of your tent?
Either way it's been proven that pulling air through the filter is more efficient, there is no denying it.

I'll try and find the testing.
But the basic high school physics behind it is this. When you are pushing air into your filter, your are creating positive pressure inside that container, when this happens your fan is try to push air into it against said positive pressure, making the fan motor work harder and decreasing the amount of CFM's that it can push through the filter itself.
It doesn't matter whether it was a tent or a room bro. A tent is just a smaller version of a room.

I can use this same theory and reverse saying such fan sucking would create a negative pressure from the filter in return lowering the cfm

This is very true

I'm pretty sure the negative pressure isn't as hard on the motor.
But if you look at the plain manufacturing of it, they're designed to have air sucking through it, not pushed. Hence the dust filter.

This reminds me of squirrel cage fans, where blocking the output can stress the motor, but blocking the intake is fine.
(but having a caged fan type of rower...I think that this is a different effect)
Good luck,
JD

Well I can't find that link, but the vast majority of people are saying it's more efficient. One of the reasons is that the fan and filter are specifically designed to work this way.
And this doesn't make sense
"I find it best at the discharge point for the fact you can seal your.lights and hoses and have nothing to worrie about on smell That is as long as you have matched your fan/filter correctly
The same is said for the opposite, and actually if you end up with a leak in your venting, no smell will get out because the air has already been filtered. Hell if a leak appears filtered air is just pushed out.
