God, that's a hard one to try and guess. I would think they have pressure from the DEA to keep it as is.

There's a mountain of scientific evidence I don't see how the DEA can deny the beneficial elements marijuana has to offer.

It won't be free within the next 4 years imo but s reschedule would be a step in the right direction.

@Dead - The DEA doesn't care about that. They are ran by the prison industrial complex. A privatized system that exploits the american public for profit, through the war on drugs.

Best case scenario: I think it will end up like cocaine and fall to schedule 2. It's a good way to shut up all the medicinal marijuana proponents without having to worry about the threat hemp poses to a bunch of industries. Also, it still gives pharmacies decent control over the substance because it would likely still be illegal for people to grow it for themselves.
On the other hand, Hawks has a point. The DEA will fight to the death to keep schedule 1 substances from being rescheduled. It's in their job description.
