Hawk! I'm so happy you have good news! This is my last plant so I'm banking on it turning out OK.... I'm debating putting pictures up... 
The topping on this Indica looks great compared to a FIM I did on my now dead Sativa....
I can be proud of this plant at least!
I always expected the plant to be light green on the inside

i think it looked pretty black the moment I cut it... but I can recut the top... there is still a little stem left? Should I check now?
Plus two things: The newer branches have leaves with small holes on the side, (only some leaves and some branches)
annnnnd the very top of the plant's stem (and its branches) are turning purple.... I thought this had to do with temperature? If not though... what should I do?

I just checked an old post called "Red Stems" but this is the first I have seen my plants stems turn purple and the temperature has been steady... so... huh.. lol

They need food. Had the same sht happen, stopped getting worse after first feeding.
I topped 4/5 of my plants, none were blackish inside right away, only a day later. Fiy

Purple stems can be genetics, nutrients, or temperature. It's probably either nutrients or genetics, probably nutrients considering everything that has been going on.
I would order FF nutrients and start giving them the nutrients they want and deserve.
I wouldn't worry about the stem.
