yup a cooling hood is great but the fan blowing or sucking has to be strong and quite or it dont work worth a shit im talking from experince and over kill is great more light bjgger flowers!!!!!

have u checked your local hardware/lumber co mine carries the 400 watt hps bulb that i need when that shit happens u should be ok though gonna get stressed out a little bit ive had it happen to me once when i was flowering stressed it bad enough they turn herm on me but it was
more than half way in so i just tried my best to cut the nut sacks off and still ended up with a just a couple of seeds but u are in veg i would wait til they come back from the stress before putting them into flowering if u are at that point

I think your ladies will be just fine. Maybe get a little stressed out and throw out a few weird leaf formations, and the clones may take longer to root (maybe cut another batch when you get a new ballast just to be safe?), but other than that, you'll be okay imo...

Theyll be just fine. Sounds like maybe you need to get a quality ballast. In 7-8 years of growing I have only had 1 ballast go out on me. And that was just a switch malfunction.

Sunlight Supply makes a very high quality ballast.
