Has any one ever found/noticed Papaver Somniferum's (Opium Poppy) growing around your town, or any where for that matter?

i threw about 2 handfuls of poppy seeds into the grass right next to the dumpster at my old apartment complex. i wonder if they've started to grow yet...
if only the spot wasn't over 2000 miles away. arrrgg

I noticed a patch of them not too far from my house, in this old fellow's garden.
They can be seen from the road, the pods on those fuckers are already pretty big.

Seems feasible. I know it takes around 10 hectares to produce one kilo of raw opium.

You can't buy opium producing poppies. Even if you did get lucky and find a nursery with them, it would still technically be illegal. Remember, there are varieties of poppies that don't produce opium. In this case sale would be completely legal. As for the seeds, i know it's pretty easy to purchase them online, but i'm pretty sure the sale of opium poppy seeds are still illegal within the US.
