Yes I tried them (but without the meat) and thought they were pretty good, but what really makes a difference is having the shell fresh and not all soggy from the beans and cheese.
They were pretty awesome at the moment but I was pretty baked. I had a few of the tacos and a few other things and the next morning my stomach wasn't forgiving.

they are decent but the taco meat hides the doritos taste
I still say they are better then the standard taco but not by much

Since I'm vegetarian I haven't gotten the meat on a taco bell taco for a few years and I don't feel like I'm missing out when I get it. If anything it makes it more wholesome.

LOL. Yeah, Taco Hell can be satisfying in a pinch... but it's nothing to write home about. I usually snag the Double Decker, sometimes a Mexican Pizza and/or Volcano Taco (cause its spicy - I still drench everything in Fire sauce). But seriously, the only reason I'm talking about it, is because it's on topic and it's the type of food I eat when I'm driving 700 miles up I-5 from Los Angeles to Oregon and want to get something as quickly as possible. Or dropping of a package at FedEx starving, since there's one right next door. Even then, I'll only go in if the place is empty, 'cause it really isn't worth waiting for.
