How often should I fert
    #60327 - 06/18/08 06:24 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

When I fert my plants go all dark green later that day, and it seems that the next day, or maybe the day after the next they are asking for more ferts (getting yellow on leaves again). Im using a soilless mixture, 1/3 perlite/peat/verm.

It sounds like you already have found out how often to fertilize. Since you're using a soil-less mixture, the medium doesn't provide any nutrients to the plant, so you'll have to fertilize frequently. The most important thing is to simply perceive what the plants are telling you, which is what you've been doing. I'd suggest trying out a little bit weaker concentration every day, to avoid that "getting dark green-then yellowing two days later" cycle. Just be careful not to over-fertilize and make adjustments from there. Different strains and even different phenotypes from within the same strain will have different nutrient needs, and that will change as well over the course of its life cycle, so the best thing is to just be an astute observer and give them what they are saying they want.
