The seeds for these two plants were planted about a month ago. I've had two successful grows before so I'm a bit baffled as to what's going wrong. The lower leaves are dying and the plant is growing at an agonizingly slow rate. It also looks like the stems are turning brown. Temperatures are around 86 F with lights on and 68 F with lights off. The only thing I can think is a nutrient deficiency. The fox farms nutes I'm using are around 2 years old, but if it's not a nutrient deficiency I don't want to waste money buying new nutes. Any help would be appreciated.
agreed on the rot do your cups have holes poked in the bottom, styrofoam is an insultaor thats why we keep cold beer in them, your roots are probally getting hotter and staying hotter being in styrofoam, If your going to be using cups get the infamous red solo cup those bitches are good for everything.

Gonna have to disagree on this one. While the rootzone shouldn't be getting too high, I have grown great pot at temps in the 90s. It's not ideal, but I doubt it's this persons problem.
His nutrients are over 2 years old. They need to be throw out. Secondly he shouldn't even be using nutrients at this stage of growth.
We need alot more info from ya man.
