Is it possible to rehydrate dry/old buds by "curing" them in mason jars with some fresh fan leafs?? I have a 2 foot hemi(just turned on me) and an oz of dry haze that smells like dry straw but smokes ok.. Can't really roll a joint with dust
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I dont really know where this post belongs

If you put a piece of a fresh apple or orange in the jar or baggy it will wetten it up in a few hours, or overnight, please remember to remove the piece of fresh fruit once your pot has moistened to the desired level so not too long then. Apple is the best.

Yeah I heard about peels/letuce, but these buds dont smell like bud lol. They basically dont smell like anything, and I have lots of fan leafs so I was wondering if I can put them to good use.

The thing with fruit is that its wet and more hydrophilic than fan leaves, did you ever notice the shiny part of the leaves? Its like a wax that seals moisture in. Perhaps you could try it and see or just sift all that dried buds and make an extract. You can buy an apple for a buck and have those buds freshed up in 8 hours or so, off course, depending on your elevation.

Thanks but I have lots of leafs, so I can just replace them daily. Plus I will probably cut them up into small but manageable pieces.

I don't know anything about "recuring" but in the past I've cut up a sponge into small pieces and glued a lil square piece to the underside of the lid on a mason jar. A few drops of water will go a long way with moistening up your buds. It also won't leave a scent behind like the fan leaves you may use. (Which will more than likely leave them smelling like hay)
Just be careful which ever method you choose. A little moisture in a jar can turn into mold real quick!

Wait fan leaves will have it smelling like hay?? Thats mostly what im trying to fix lol...it already smells like hay. When I cut the leafs of the plant it smells like sour, which is why I thought it will help. Btw I smoked a few bowls of the bud yesturday, and even though it tasted nasty and was reeally rough smoke, I got very stoned.

Pardon the noobish question, but I am wondering how your buds got to smelling like hay? I'm assuming something went wrong in the curing process?

My friend (<<no really) sells, and he got a bunch of it for cheap. It seems like homegrown that was never cured or just old buds. I can see trichs all over it though, which is why i think theres potential.
