I don't think theres such a thing as too much herb. If we had too much it would be free or cheaper.
The fact that people are paying top $ for herb proves this.
When's the last time you heard somebody say.... "Oh...hey man, can you smoke this pound of hash for me I got extra"
If it was legal and you were allowed to grow 1,000,000,000,000 plants, I would probably never have to smoke bud again it would just be hash.
If you've "smoked yourself sober" maybe you just needed hash of another variety 
Elite buds sometimes take my pain away, but I usually have to hit up expensive hash to get relief.... and I mean expensive 
Apparently I haven't found out what too much is

Depends.
I buy a half everyday, but I know people buying quaps every few days.
Smoking a lot is like 3.5-4 grams a day

My friend jim owns apartments and doesn't work, so he smokes all day, over the summer we were smoking almost a ounce every few hours (2-4), which is a lot cause i usually only smoke 2-3 grams a day

As far as daily consumption goes, anything over 3.5g a day seems ridiculous to me unless you're smoking/eating it for medical reasons rather than just wanting to get high. Really though, even 2g a day seems like quite a bit to me.
I just don't like to be stoned out of my gourd 24/7. A smoke session or two a day is all I partake in and a gram lasts me five to seven days, I have kept my intake at about a gram a week for the past two years. Even when I start growing and have a decent supply on hand I don't see my intake increasing all that much, perhaps up to 0.5g a day & every once in a while rolling up a big one. Like I said, I don't like being stoned all the time, and when I do smoke I don't like getting all that faded, a small joint or a few rips and I am good. Going all out smoking large amounts in one sitting and smoking multiple times a day gets old real quick....

yeah medical patients are interesting cases
I am one and a lot of times I need to smoke more to help medically than I do to get  , so both always happens, and both are medicines.
