250W HPS Closet grow - "Grape Ape" - Pro-Mix blend [35 days 12/12]

Lighting: 100W 250W HPS + fluorescent side lighting.
Strain: 'Kentucky Grape Ape' from some guy
Soil: Pro-mix with some extra perlite and humus
Nutes: PBP

The Franken-mum: This skinny gal has been beat up, moved twice and spent a few weeks in a basement under sub-par lighting so she looks pretty skanky but it's time to finish her off. Here she is on her second day of 12/12 (which was 5 days ago, 8/22).

Yeah, almost just tossed it and flowered the clones but it'd be a shame to just waste it.

I've also got a 250W coming which should be here by the time it's fully flowering so that should help as well. I was sketched out by the 100W security light but my partner got a deal on it and wouldn't be convinced it was a bad idea. If we tear it apart and make it a remote ballast it might be good side lighting in that little angled roof area off to the left.

/I also have a feeling I could have hit her a little harder with some PBP Grow when I watered last (I believe it was the day of this photo) but so it goes. I gave it 5ml/gal each PBP Grow, PBP Soil Bloom and Liquid Karma.

8/30 - Day 10 of 12/12

Alright, now we're half-way decent, got her under the 250W yesterday evening and hit her with full strength nutes. Accidently broke a couple of the more spindly branches; next time we're hanging or re-hanging a light we'll know better than to work around the plant.

LOL ive done that. i dropped my fan on my gods like 2 or 3 times throughout the grow as well.

but no she is looking alot better. hopefully you get something dece off her. Where did you grab the grape ape seeds from? ive been looking all over but have only found one site online that says they have it and its pretty sketchy looking.

AFAIK Grape-Ape is a clone-only strain, this is actually something I got from a guy I know who called it 'Kentucky Grape Ape' so I don't really know where he got it. I have seen it grown out before and it grows out some nice fat, heady colas but at least indoors it didn't purple up that much.

9/10 - Day 21 of 12/12

About a quarter of the way through flowering she's recovering from some pH related magnesium deficiency (you can see particularly well in this third picture) but otherwise looking pretty good (lesson learned: use the damn soil tester from the beginning - if you grow in soil and don't have a soil tester: get one. They're cheap and convenient. My cheap plastic model is a combined pH, fertility, moisture, and light meter).

In order to grow good weed you need to be part carpenter, electrician, plumber, biologist, geneticist, chemist, and very willing to get dirty.

I've been working with power tools since I was 8, my dad is an electrical engineer who owned a 280 gal fish tank, and I studied biology with a specialty in genetics. Getting dirty comes naturally. I think my parents inadvertently trained me to be a weed grower.
