Goddamnit. I got poison ivy for the first time and it sucks major balls.
Been self medicating with baths, showers, cannabis, and calamine lotion. Two other people at my work got it, one of them had to go to the hospital and get injected with cortizon.
It spreads and itches and is one motherfucking pain.
Would taking some diphenhydramine help?
Should I go to the hospital?

DPH helps a LOT.
If you go to the doctor, they'll give you some steroids to help your body get over it.
I lost literally about a quarter of the skin on my right leg last year to some really wicked poison ivy. I still have some really nasty scars 
This summer, I've managed to only get it once. I thought I had it again the other day but it was just some bug bites. Its the craziest shit, because I never used to be allergic to it. And now I get it the worst out of anyone I know.

Also - baths are about the worst thing you can do if the oil is still on your skin. If you get the oil on you, wash it off in COOL WATER. If you use hot water, it opens up your pores and then you're fucked. I'm pretty sure thats what happened to me.
The junk in the blisters themselves isn't what spreads it. You can't get poison ivy from touching someone elses poison ivy unless they still have the plant oil on their skin. It doesn't always come out where you came in contact with the plant. The oils get into your body and come out wherever.
If you have any doubts, I'd go to the doctor asap. Its not cool to get that shit in your bloodstream and have it everywhere. Trust me.

Urushiol-induced contact dermatitis happens when urushiol (the poison) binds to the membrane proteins on exposed skin cells and alters their conformation so that the body no longer recognizes your skin as self-material. This trigger a cytotoxic T-cell attack which compromises the cells and thus causes a shitty feeling.
You have two options:
Wash the affected with a non-ionic surfactant agent. A very good one in this case is polyethylene glycol p-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)-phenyl ether:  a.k.a. Triton X-100. I use it daily at my work and I'd hook you up if you were near me 
Second option is to take glucocorticoids or antihistamines. That being said diphenhydramine sounds like a viable option. Lets see how that goes.

I appreciate it.
Maybe the bath wasn't a good idea. 
But I took soem diphenydramine, a little amphetamine, and the marijuana makes it feel a lot better too.
If it gets worse I'll try to get some of those meds or go to a doc.

Ya def don't use hot water, i got it a while back without even realizing that and it just got worse and worse...
Also mo matter how drunk you get try not to itch it

Yes. Weed makes poison ivy go away. But you must buy a pound, and eat half while chanting..then smoke the second half in 20 minutes...

Just got back from the doctor and smoked a bowl, the doctor was pretty hot. 
She prescribed some anti-biotic cream and steroids, told me to take diphenhydramine to try to manage and if that doesn't work than use the steroids, and she mentioned that whem I take a high dose I could get benadryl psychosis.
Gonna go pick up the prescriptions.

I built immunities to poison ivy/oak/sumac because I've been exposed to it so much. It's nice now.
Not much you can do for it though. Swimming in the ocean helps because the saltiness dries it out.
