...The Noob... lighting, so there are 3 different kinds of lights used for indoor growing correct? HPS, ..., ..., cant remember the others but i understand that different lights are used for different stages of growth. My question is, is there a bulb that can be used for all stages of growth with good results? making fake sunlight seems so expensive, 100$ + for a bulb wow... are there any cheap alternatives?
ALSO: its winter time and there's a foot of snow on the ground so outdoor growing is out of the picture for me..
P.S: i have seen some beautiful pics on this site, i can get some good dro but wow some of these pic are off the chain
cfl's , t5 tubes, led,or buy the sunshine and daylight t8 tube light from lowes, 7$ for two four foot bulbs but you want those tight nugs you need at least a 400w hps don't worry the bulb lasts a while. All of the lower watt lights really don't need cooling but if you put a 400w or larger in a small space you'll need a fan to cool the bulb for extra life and keep the room at a safe temp.
cool. thanks for the info.. im thinking of putting an exhaust fan either on the top or the side of my Grow Box. i was thinking it would be awesome to put the exhaust fan dead center at the top of the GB "a household exhaust fan that has a light socket in it as well" and then putting a good bulb "one that would fit" into the exhaust fan and then bam, ventilation and light would be taken care of but im not sure if it will all wrk out as planned due to the space issues in the little exhaust fan, it may not fit a suitable bulb.
or i could get the fluorescent or tube like bulbs from Lowe's like you suggested and just put the exhaust fan on the side.
i also hope to incorporate a "drip type" hydroponic setup into the GB i just hope i have space. the GB is 22"x22"x4' its only intended to hold 1-3 plants
Check out Ultra Sun bulbs. They are working just as well as the Hortilux bulbs I use to use and lets just say they are a little cheaper. I will run them till I find something better.
