 What Stuff Will I Need for Lighting

I am going to be purchasing my lighting equipment in about a week. I am doing an indoor grow (obviously since I need a light) and am growing in soil (not that it really matters).
I am wondering if all the components of the lighting system come separately. From what I understand, I need: a light (I am going to get a 400 watt light); a bulb; ballast; hood; and a timer. I am unsure if there is anything else I need, or if any of these items come together.

Inline fan would be nice to control heat from the light.

Got it. I'm all set up with one inline fan coming in, and one going out. The one going out connexts to six inch ducts coming off of the light. So now between the heat being sucked out, and the air coming in; my grow space is just about the perfect temperature at 75 degrees. I think that's supposed to be pretty swell...ain't it?

The brand is Hydrofarm. I got it from a dude I met at school on a trade. The side of the lamp says "DA Luminaire Series". I couldn't really find any more info on it. But it is also on, and I didn't want to be shoving my eyes up there looking for stuff.

Im assuming that since its 400 watts and your using a ballast, its a high intensity discharge system, but what i meant by my question was do you know what type of system..... like Metal halide, high pressure sodium, or even a conversion ballast????

Well, as you can see...I are the noob. Sorry for misunderstanding. I don't know what kind of system it is, and I am not really sure how to tell. I'll try and so some homework on it, and figure it out. I'll try to post about it later tonight.

Ok, here are some pics: The bulb says Hortilux Super Hb2, and then there is the side panel with all of the information on it. There is nothing else on the light that is revealing (in the way of print). So here you go:

alright yeah its an HID......but on the ballast (the box that runs the light) does it say anything on it?

I just purchased a Hydrofarm Daystar reflector system. It includes The reflector, cord set, lens, bulb, and Lumatek ballast. You usually save around 10% when going this route. Understand that not all Lumateks are equiped to run Hydrofarm equipment. That is one nice thing about systems: no fuck ups.

yeah i bought my light setup as a "system" too! they lowered the price alot because i did it this way .....and i know that everything will work together then!
