Yea there is a huge generation gap between me and my dad, I'm 19 and he's 64, but surprisingly he's the cooler of my parents, probably because he still thinks that he's 21. He used to grow a plant or two to smoke with his buddies but was never really into the plant, just the effects, and therefore never really learn't any actual definitions or names to call it, so he just kept with the hype and what everyone else knew I guess

That's funny because my friends parents used to call it dope which is why I said I heard it a lot above. They'd also say pot, which was what I liked better.

I don't really like calling it "pot" idk it's what my mom calls it(she used to smoke weed) and usually people who are all against weed that I know call it pot, and call me a "pothead" and to me it seems kind of offensive like they are just trying judge me.

haha no shit man, its annoying when people call me a pothead unless its one of my friends and there just fucking around.

It also annoying when someone calls me a "druggie" which is a term thats thrown around  alot where I live. I mean wow, most the people that call me that are alcoholics, or are addicted to perscription painkillers, but thats okay because those are legal

I think in the 70's it was more of a word for weed, but now it is more associated with opiates.

And to have something relevant to the topic, I rarely ever hear anyone use the word "dope" around here. Most of the people I'm around are plain old stoners.
