I have a four output 8w gh pump for one or two 5 gal Aeration may be an issue.
for that many buckets you need at least what I have if not two!

Sorry, you are correct (double negative)
I DO NOT THINK AERATION IS THE ISSUE.
-I am not doing DWC, therefore the water is in constant circulation.

Have you noticed differences with different strains as far as root ball size goes?
You can never have enough aeration, although it may not be the issue.
Could be your flood timing, this shouldn't be a constant number from what I have researched. (larger plants need more flooding, different mediums need different flood times, coir holds alot of H2O, hydroton not as much, rockwool a shit ton.)
I will try to find more info on it im curious now.. haha

yeah, there were 2 airstones in the res.
As for strain. no so much, but the bigger plants definately made a bigger root ball.
