Water/Nut to Plant Ratio Question and Advice on Scrog. Please Help...
    #497619 -

In a DWC, what is the ideal ratio of water to plant. I was looking at either 3.5G or 5G buckets. So roughly 3G or 4.25G. Will I really benefit from that extra 1.25G of water/nut per plant.

Some Feedback Please:

I will be doing two 3x3 scrogs under one 1000w per group. I plan to use a 55G drum(or two if I go w/ 5G buckets) to mix and distribute nuts through a bottom connected PVC connection on the buckets via a pond pump(will use connection to drain as well. I'm going to use an in-line pump to recirculate the water throughout the buckets via PVC that way I can just measure off one bucket to monitor EC/PPM/PH. I was planning on swapping water once a week and just adding water/nut as necessary throughout the week to make up for any deficiencies. I was planning on using GH nuts.

Any advice on my nut regimen, logistics of the DWC, or scrog would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure there are people on here that have a lot experience in all of these areas.

Bigger container means more root space if you want to grow really tall plants.  1 gal per foot of vertical growth you would like to see is the general rule of thumb.  So if you want 2-3 ft plants at max then you wouldn't need much more then a 3 gallon bucket (2 gal would probably work just as well).

My scrog is 4'x4' with 9 plants I have 8' of vertical grow space. The room is larger than 4'x4', but I want to start another 4'x4' after the first run is successful/tweaked. So I should go with 5G to maximize my potential for filling up the scrog. I just don't want to waste nuts, so if more water=more yield w/o excessively wasting nuts.

I am assuming I should be changing out the water every week w/ fresh water/nuts. OR can i reuse water if I balance it back out and bring the nutrient level up to the PPM I have planned out for that week.
