hello this year i have a couple of small gurilla patch's ,unfortunately i lost one of them to some intense hail that shredded the plants and even mangled the stalks and cleaned off the branch's,but they did produce a few shoots so what i decided to do was leave some male plants there to breed some seed stalk ,my ? is will the trauma experienced by the plants have much of an impact on the quality of the seed,i guess the best thing to do of course is grow them out to see but i was wondering if anyone has experience with this or i was wondering what peoples ideas are on this topic thanks

The issue here is will the plant divert energy from making seeds to repairing itself from the damage. I would have to say probably, but to what extent, I have no idea. This is just a logical opinion. I've never read anything on this specific issue. I also tend to believe that everything that happens in a plants life will have an impact on it's progeny. But I would like to see some experiments on this with cannabis. One plant treated as well as you could and another plant that is intentionally damaged somehow, with both plants in the same environment. Seed them both with the same pollen and then grow out the seeds and see if you can identify any differences. surely someone has done that before - not on here though. I would check icmag, if you haven't already.
