The Lineup

On the far left is a jar of Psilocybe mexicana inoculated 6/4, the rest are Psilocybe galindoi (var. Georgia ATL#7) all inoculated 6/22. The mexicana are on rye and the galindoi on rye grass seed. As you can see there's a wide variation in colonization of the galindoi from multispore, including (not pictured) a jar extremely slow to germinate with only about a cubic inch of growth so far. The mexicana jar is largely representative of the other mexicana jars inoculated at the time (although obviously they've had more time to grow and even out than the galindoi).

Looks nice. I hear these are of the easiest mushrooms to grow. I may give them a try when I have more time/spare cash.

They are pretty easy. They just take a little longer then growing straight cubies. But you do not need fruiting chamber just a nice dark warm place to put them then just sit back and wait. GJ OP.

Yeah. The RGS particularly is as simple as it gets, though I imagine Roger is right that the a rye substrate is a bit more prolific.

Yes, RR. I'll get some more photos of these in a day or two when it's more obvious but a few of the galindoi jars have taken right off. Dilute Coffee 
Edit: And as to the time line vs cubensis I would guess that I could harvest a small flush of the galindoi now on day 72 from inoculation vs. about 45 days for the first flush of PEUs on my last cube grow.

I use coffee in all my jars any more, it really helps the spawning time. I have been looking into do some sclerotia produces in the near future.

yeah be careful where you get your rye grass seed. i used to get it from a nursery where you scooped it yourself and was great! they even let you weigh your own bags, haha honor system.lol
then i got some that was on sale at a home improvement store last fall that had it on sale super cheap so i bought well over a hundred bucks worth of seed.
i did about 30 fuckin filter patch bags and nothing grew in them at all. god damn anti fungicide!!!!!!!
i read the bags all over and they never said anything about having fungicide on the seed
MAJOR FAIL!!!!

yup thats about it. u can try searching google to see if it has a fungicide. i read my bags over n over but never saw "fungicide" i realy didnt see anything at all for that matter.... so now i dont buy pre-bagged shit anymore just the stuff they put out loose in the bins

P Mexicana is a better trip than cubensis as well. Only ever eaten them fresh.
