hi there ive recently purchased a 80cmx80cmx160cm (31.5inx31.5inx63in)tent and 400w/600w digi ballast with cool shade. im planning on buying a nft system, but im having 2 buy 2 because u cant get a dr80 nft system.im also getting a climate controller with filters/fans etc.im planning on growing ak47 auto.
the problem i keep on encountering is how many will fit in this space sog style. ive been told i cant scrog this strain also,is this right? (its 2 late 2 get new seeds as ive already bought them). would i be better off with a different hydro/aero system? bearing in mind next time i want to plant sog
i dont mind paying 4 the better gear,i just dont want 2 waste my money buying a system that doesn't work...any help/ideas would be much appreciated

just found a 8 and 32 Site Amazon Aeroponic Hydroponics Grow System 800mm x 750mm x 460mm(31.5” x 29.5” x 18”) would this be a better option? the only thing is,is the height of 18in could be a problem, but ive read somewhere that aero is better...let me know your thoughts guys...cheers

My thoughts? Are you new to growing? Maybe grow in soil on your first time around. It is much easier for many people.
How many seeds did you buy? You could flower 10 autos under a 400 watt no problem.
It sounds like you are willing to invest a lot in your setup.

hi thanks 4 replying...
i started with my friend a while back but,i only started them off ,he finished them,so in a way yes im new 2 growing .we grew in soil but getting rid of it at the end was a problem, thats why i fancy hydro .ive invested alot of time reading articles books etc but alot of the info given contradicts each other.
im willing to spend as much thats needed for a decent grow. but i dont really want 2 get as far as the co2 bit as yet(its abit boggling lol)
i have 30 seeds(reg),the ballast etc ive bought contains a 400w METAL HALIDE BULB,and a 600w SUNMASTER HPS BULB: i was planning 2 put the 400 4 veg and 600 4 flower but ,i didnt know what 2 do with auto strains (probably 3weeks 400 and the rest 600 depending if the heats 2 much)

You do realize that you need two ballasts for 2 different wattages (unless it is adjustable). I'm pretty sure that an auto will not branch out very much. You could probably germ all 30 beans and then cull out the males. I think you will be fine under a 600. You should also consider starting a mother plant (must be non auto flowering strain) while you are growing your autos so that you do not have to buy seeds again later (research cloning or taking cuttings).

yeh the ballast is adjustable, that was 1 of the reasons i bought it.
i read somewhere 2 find a ok mother ill have 2 pick 1 out of about 20 plants to find a good 1. so I'm thinking buy another tent etc for a cuttings/veg/mother room, start some seeds off and get them into veg, while i wait for the ak to finish.that way im not sitting about waiting and it will give me space for cuttings and mother later. i have a few rocklock (fem)seeds but i was thinking of trying a cheese variety, they give the best aroma/taste. i was also told 2 get some seeds from the ak as around here its pretty popular.
whats your thoughts on the setup should i get nft or aero (8 or 32 pot)? the difference in height between the 2 isn't much, its about half a inch when i add the growdan blocks height.
edit...just found a 16 pot areo aswell
