Hi,
I recently fine tuned my 1600w grow and realized that i can now use the remainder of the room and am not confined to the original 4x8x8 design.
I have 2x400w lights that are not in use. Both HPS, one is a sun system 2 and the other is a htgsupply 400w magnetic ballast and homemade cool-tube.
I would hate to see this equipment go to waste...
Please throw me some ideas, the closet is being used for veg, i got cfl's in there cause the HID was too much heat and a pain to exhaust.

sounds like u need to set up another flowering area.. or maybe put one of the hps in the veg room run it for a hour off hour on leaving the cfls all the time.. this may help with the heat..

I'm pondering on a vertical 400w cage?? I'm thinking cool tube it and how many plants can I put? Anyone got any cheap cage constructions? I'm looking to expand my yield not my wallet.

Since you have the extra equip for flowering, it could be interesting to advance your knowledge of cannabis by making a small controlled breeding chamber. That's what I'd do xD

Thats not really a good idea, its gonna take quite a bit of life out of the bulb and the ballast too.
The correct thing to do would be to setup a proper fan and ducted exhaust, its really not nearly as hard or expensive as everyone makes it out to be. And you don't need to take out walls and use a gang of power tools either.

ur right about the wear on the bulb and ballast.. but this is something that can be done without buying more stuff.. yes its all pretty easy if ya got the time and money....
