 WTF is Tramadol?

I suffer from chronic pain due to an old construction accident. Havent been right since ,doc wont prescribe any pain meds. says he doesnt want me to get addicted. Tells me to take tylenol I take 4 of the arthritis strength a day.. it dont do shit not even take the edge off. I got to reading about this stuff called Tramadol that can be ordered online.. first of all what the fuck is it!? how does it relate to Hydro and Oxycodeine? I tried to google it.. all I get is a bunch of medical mumbo jumbo. Hopefully someone can explain this too me.. along with potency etc.. etc.. thanks..

Its a muscle relaxer.
It may give you a feeling of sedation, but its not to help specifically for all forms of pain.

Everyone is gonna come in here and tell you its a stupid waste of money and time.
I'm fucking in love with it though  I guess it works for some, and others not.
My friend who had a real bad problem with H weened himself off it with trams, and now takes them regularly. He takes way more in a day than I ever could, but I take them every other day or so.
They have a REALLY nice SSRI effect that I can't get anywhere else. It really just makes my day 100x better than it would have been without the tramadol. I can do the most stupid, lame tasks and they are great to me. It makes me super happy. Am I depressed? Probably. Do I take it for that reason? No. I take it because I really like the effects haha.
My friend and I just split an order if 180, they came overnighted for $100. Not a bad deal if you ask me, considering I only take 2-3 a day, every other day.

I'm fairly certain tramadol is NOT an SSRI, but similar to other anti-depressants. It actually inhibits the uptake of norepinephrine.

I didn't mean that it WAS an SSRI, just that it had similar SSRI effects

didnt read anything above cause Im an hungover as shit. but I got tramadol for a head injury back in january and I like the effects when I took 2-3 twice a day. It did its job in keeping me on a bearable pain level. Also wasnt as addictive as opiates.

Thanks for giving me some info about this subject.. I dont know if anyone has ever had experience's like me. I wanted to point out something dungeness said. I currently take a drug called effexor and if tramadol is anything like that.. I dont want shit to do with it.. I definitely dont want to mix the too. effexor is a very hard addictive drug and my dip shit doctor will not ween me off of it.. ( he says it helps me focus) All I know is if I dont take it everyday at the same time.. It cause me to get extremely sick. massive headaches, throwing up, etc etc. on a positive note.. It will make you go 0 to Bad Shit Crazy in no time.

Yeah tramadol is a very weak painkiller, I ended up with 40 of them once and just gave them away. But some people do really like them. You have to be careful with tramadol though because it lowes your seizure threshold by a significant amount. So when you do take it you should keep your doses small, and do not mix it with other drugs except for weed and benzodiazapines. I have also read that it is more addictive than most opioid painkillers, and has worse withdrawls.
If I was you, I would get a new doctor.

You do not want to mix Tramadol and any SSRI or SNRI (like Effexor), this could result in something called serotonin syndrome, which is some nasty stuff, and potentially lethal.

Yeah, tramadol isnt too good haha. Everyone I know that was perscribed it was also perscribed some sort of anti-seizure medication.

It definitely is non-narcotic, but it can be effective for pain relief
The recreational value isnt as good as traditional opiods because it lacks the euphoria, but in terms of helping with chronic pain, it will do a lot better than any OTC meds

You have to take pretty high doses on a daily basis to have it cause a seizure. I only take 150mg when I do it usually. No worries.

Yeah pretty much like everyone else said
non narcotic opiate painkiller, Its given because of its very low potential for abuse
with no tolerance I popped like 4 50mg pills once and felt pretty good
then popped two a few years later and smoked a few bowls and had a few beers, felt pretty good then too, however I dont condone drinking mixed with pills

Tramadol was prescribed for my dog after she got hit by a car and broke her leg. The vet gave it to her to help with the pain.

Yep all of my tramadol experiences were from animal scripts 
Same shit though, you can actually order the shit online at some veterinary medicine shops but its not even that fun of a drug so fuck it
