So this is my first indoor grow under lights that are not fluorescents. I got this http://www.hidhut.com/catalog/250w-hpsmh-digital-ballast-bulb-and-glass-tube-reflector-combo-p-2297.html and set it up with some ducting and a computer fan in a cabinet (about 24"x28" and 7 feet tall) that i got from Ikea for about $60 and painted with primer and flat white paint. I bought 4 GDP clones and 4 Bubba kush clones from BPG dispensary. I also have four bagseed that I might put outside. Right now I have no door and have them under 24 hours of light. I transplanted the clones into 50% Black Gold soil and 50% perlite. I have a fan running that is at an angle so all the plants shake a little bit. The temperature rarely goes above 70 degrees F. The ballast is switchable so I will put in a hps bulb for flowering and will also put in a 65 watt cool white florescent bulb.
These pics are about a week old. I dont have camera so i have to borrow one. I have been rotating the plants 90 degrees a few times a day. I was watering them with light nut solutions but now i think that the roots are probably developed enough that they can get their nutes from the soil. I have moved them closer to the light.
Any ideas for an easy door design or cheap ventilation/filtration products are appreciated.

So no camera but an update: Some of them are yellowed from nute deficiencies, but their root systems are getting bigger so they will be fine. When i bought the clones and transplanted them a lot of them barley had roots touching the sides of the rockwool (sp?). They have all grown a lot, and are branching out a lot (a lot of lateral growth). I am watering them with Tiger bloom at 1 teaspoon per gallon and occasionally some bat guano (10-6-2) compost tea.
Questions:
If I am using a 250 watt hps cool tube + floros for flowering how tall should by GDP/Bubba Kush plants be so when i start to flower them? I want the whole plant to produce buds that are dense, so i dont want the plants to be so tall that they have shitty unfinished loose buds at the bottoms. I can put my plants very close to the cool tube, and they could very easily be 6 inches from the cool tube if I upgraded the fan i have on it.
Still looking for ideas on a door and air filtration ideas. Any advice is appreciated.

I dont know. I imagined a SOG type grow but i guess these strains are not good for that. The problem here is that time is short. I might be going back to Louisiana as soon as early August, so I do not have time to do to much pruning and waiting for them to bush out in some specific way. I can give them to friends to cure after harvest but nobody here could finish growing them. I think I have enough plants that I can take advantage of all the light without doing a SCROG.
Please correct me if anything i have said is wrong. Any suggestions appreciated.

I would suggest putting a screen in there. let em grow a it and start training them to it so each terminal bud has a slot to grow into. may be a few weeks of training. You can fill it up less if time is a huge issue. here would be something like your goal...
as for ventilation, just put a fan in there for now. i would think a small desk fan would do the trick for the time being. maybe add another later on. Good luck!

I have a fan in there now. It is at an angle so it makes all the plants shake little bit without blasting any of them. I do not have a few weeks to veg them, I was thinking two more weeks of veg max.

That is a really clean Cabinet grow, Nice job with the ducting, Does the ducting go any further besides what is shown? Like does the ducting go out the cabinet then exhaust somewhere outside your house, or does it simply have a filter on the side of the cabinet that its exhausted though. Does that make sense? Inverted and I just got some Hash plant, And I just took like a small taste of my 3 gram nug and my fucking fried...oh ya we smoked our first bowl of k2 today also maybe that's why I'm retarded. Anyway..
