Yikes... not lookin too good for candidate number 1. It might be a bit too early, but that's looking very possibly male.
The lighting in the second picture makes it too hard to tell.

I'm thinking one is male one is female. The second one looks female IMO.
In the first pic it looks like a crabs claw, and I think I can see a tiny hair coming out of it in both pics.
