ok, this guy is tellin me he had a male, and he changed its sex to a female. either he is fuckin retarded, or messing with me. i dont believe him at all.

he probably thought he had a male, but ended up with a hermie. He probably just picked off the male buds and called it female

It is definitely possible that he has done it, but it isn't like it is a process that would really benefit someone that is simply trying to get around the fact that a good number of planted seeds will turn male. Sam the Skunkman currently has a discussion going over at ICMag concerning the role that reversing the sex of a male to a female could play in helping to determine the traits its genetics would have if they were expressed as a female, to help take some of the guesswork out of the male selection process for breeding purposes. It is a remarkable idea and he's going to start experimenting with it, so hopefully it works.
Ask him how he managed to change the sex of the plant. Then it would be possible to determine if he's retarded or messing with you.

Some plants will "reverse-hermi" , meaning they will appear to be males at first, and then throw some pistils out as well.
