Im gonna be DJing at a free day party in LA next month, they said they'll pay for my gas and beer. I'm moving on up in the world fuck yeah.
Im gonna be playing psytrance but there will also be breaks and house. If anyone is interested and in the LA area get at me and ill fill you in. Its free.

they are paying me gas money and i drink free, for someone who is just starting out in the psy scene that's pretty good. I would have done it for no gas money just to get the exposure.
All the psy dj's i have talked to say not to expect to get paid gigs right away, you're gonna have to play a lot of free parties starting out but as you get recognition people will pay to come see you and you get more paid gigs.

yah exactly i don't expect to ever get super-rich doing this, but it's a hobby that i enjoy and could potentially allow me to earn a little money here and there outside my real job.
The chances of me getting rich as a Psytrance DJ & Producer are pretty damn low, but i do it cause i enjoy it, if i can make a few bucks here and there playing parties or selling a few trackse that's great, but even if its all just for fun that's cool too.
If i was in this for the money I would play house or dubstep or something popular right now, but i play music that I love even if theres only a niche market for it.
DJing a party is a really cool feeling because you're almost like a puppet master pulling the strings by choosing songs and everyone on the floor dances to them, it's like you can control the vibes of the party.
I also get kind of a natural high when I see people on the dance floor going off to my tracks.

oh and i just got another pm on that rave forum, from an organizer who is putting together a lineup for a different party a week before the one i'm going to.
So lets see, my first gig was in January and i haven't had any since then. And now i have gigs 2 weeks a part next month. I would say that's moving up i don't know about you. Maybe this one will offer to be paid, even if it isn't i don't care though.
Because all the people who hear my set will be blown away, and it will build up my reputation. Reputation means you sell tickets if your name is on a line-up, which means people will pay you to play at their parties.
