whats the best way to lay hash oil to buds

talking about ISO hash in this case. my plan was to cut some buds into smalls chunks and than in maybe a half pint jar let the hash oil liquid dry out on the chunks of bud and that may let the hash oil absorb into the buds rather than laying the dried hash oil on top of the buds.
