i found these for sale at the hardware store....can i use these to grow? anyone? r they they a decent spectrum? sooooo cheap!!! im not sure whether they work with normal mh ballasts cuz they say works with mercury vapour ballasts on the packaging...

I saw that these were on a Euro site. You need to specify that these will be used on an AC/DC system. Euros use a DC. Your house will burn quicker than leaves in a bowl. The price doesn't seem that nice. You can get Hortilux bulbs for 30-100 US dollars. The Euro conversion is like 100$+oversea shipping.

nawww man...thats just an example of the bulbs at the hardware store...they are $20 australian. I want to know if i can use them with my 1000w mh ballasts and if they would be a decent spectrum.
anyone?

If it says mercury vapor than it's not going to be compatible, unless i'm just completely stoned and retarded I don't believe that's possible.

its a metal halide bulb which is supposed to be compatible for mercury vapour ballasts....not sure if they work on both though...thats the thing...i think i may bring my ballast in to the ctore and see.
