 How long does it take to get addicted to xanax?

I have a pretty hefty pod tea habit and want to quit for awhile. I'm going to start tapering down tomorrow and I bought 28 mgs of xanax today for the week or 2 when I finaly stop taking tea all togther. If I take 4mgs a day for a week will I get withdrawal from the xanax? It says it takes up to 6 months on websites but Id rather hear it from someone with experience.

From my experience you shouldn't get any serious withdrawals...Cravings yes, withdrawals no...
Replacing drugs like they said is dumb but you have to do what you have to do.

it gets ya pretty quik. a lot of docs absolutley refuse to prescribe it. they told me i shouldn't have any problems with my vicodin but after almost 2yrs of it i was doing cold water extractions so i could take 20 at a time. that was a bitch 2 quit but cold turkey is best,,,,well weed helps pretty damn well 4 me at least.

Id say that is worse you don't get the euphoric awesome high and you're killing yourself still and at a faster rate I'd imagine.

We can't tell you the answer to this question man, you should know that.  Every body is different. We can tell you what we've experienced but not what you should expect, with respect to addiction/withdrawl symptoms.

Isn't this how it's done in drug dependency programs? What about people using LSD to kick the alcohol habit or ibogaine to kick it. i've never studied addiction or anything though, but i do know there is research out there that supports the aforementioned claims regarding lsd and ibogaine.

If you're going to disagree post some reasons for doing so. Obviously the addiction itself takes a toll on the body but only through indirect causes such as appetite suppression and personal maladaptive behavior.
