The Three

I think (and these are purely opinions) that the holy trinity of entheogens is Ayahuasca (Caapi+Psychotria/Diplopterys), Cactus (Trichocereus "San Pedro" or Lophophora "Peyote") and 'Shrooms (Psilocybian Mushrooms).
I think these three entheogens, used only a few times each throughout one's life, along with moderate Cannabis use can provide the safest and most profound experiences without endangering one's self.
Ayahuasca has been in used for an estimated 10,000 years by people in the Amazion River Basin. It is completey safe, heathly and extends life.
Quote:
The result was one of the most comprehensive multi-faceted investigations of the chemistry, psychological effects, and psychopharmacology of a psychedelic drug to be carried out in this century. Both the acute and the long-term effects of regular ingestion of hoasca tea were measured and characterized; extensive psychological reviewuations, and in-depth structured psychiatric interviews were conducted with all volunteers; the nature of the serotonergic response to ayahuasca was measured and characterized; and the pharmacokinetics of the major hoasca alkaloids were measured for the first time in human plasma. Since completion of the field phase of the study, the results have been published in a number of peer-reviewed papers (Grob, et al., 1996; Callaway, et al., 1994, 1996, 1998), and have recently been summarized in a comprehensive review (McKenna, et al., 1998). Among the key findings were that long-time members of the UDV commonly underwent life-changing experiences that changed their lives and behavior in positive and profound ways; that there was a persistent elevation in serotonin uptake receptors in platelets, possibly indicative of similar long-term serotonergic modulation occurring in the central nervous system that may reflect long-term adaptive changes in brain functions. The study did establish that the regular use of hoasca, at least within the ritual context and supportive social environment which exists within the UDV, is safe and without adverse long-term toxicity, and, moreover, apparently has lasting, positive influences on physical and mental health.
Aya' cleans you out!
Cactus is also safe. Peyote comes from Mexico, it is a small blue-green button. San Pedro grows in South America, forming huge coloums, it was used by shamans Chavin. It has been shown to have antibacterial properties. As well as being one of the most beautiful, easy rides in the world of Ethnobotanicals. Trichocereus cacti are my favorite botanical, period.
Respect the Cactus!
Psilocybian Mushrooms have never been show to do any damage to human beings. 'Shrooms are probably the most potent of the botanical entheogens oz for oz, even exceeding dried Peyote. They have been show to readily induce spiritual experiences.
Mushrooms Are Good for You!
So I would encourage each human being on the face of plant Earth to seek out these experiences, they are not hard to find....
Mushrooms can be hunted all over the world...
Ayahuasca is legal in it's unprepped form in most countries....
Trichocereus cactus is easy to grow and obtain most anywhere....

From what I hear, nemorosa has more of a opioid-like effect, rather than a trip. I haven't had time to look into it too closely, my brain just flagged it as something to look more into in the future.

Salvia nemorosa = "Red Tar" = Opiod
There are many varations of the "Three"...
It could be LSD, Salvia, Iboga...
But I choose Aya', Cactus and 'Shrooms because of their long history, safey and effectiveness.

Yeah, I didn't really have the patience to wade through that mumbo-jumbo. Maybe in a few weeks when I finish up school here. But that thread looked like a load of potential buried beneath inebriated paranoia.

As long as you respect the cactus...
It will be good to you...
You are VERY correct in your statements...
There are two keys to trippin' Trichocereus cactus-
1) Strain
2) Preperation
