i'm sure it varies place to place, but yea it's cool.
since i dont work full time i'm not a regular "employee" on payroll, rather i am a "volunteer"

yeah its not required but it looks really good for you, theyll hire someone with a cert as opposed to someone without if given the option.

do you plan on getting to know the people at the club you want to work at before you apply, or are you just going into clubs cold and hoping to get hired?
if ur cold calling clubs tryin to get hired, the certs will put u far ahead, sure.
but if ur tryin to get a job at a club u already go to/ know the people there, then u dont need that shit
people ask me how i got my job, i just answer it was an on the spot interview, which is sort of true because i just got to know the manager of the place at the right time and he took a likin to me. and i to them.

i dont need it but i get to hear a horticulture lecture with Ed Rosenthal, ask him questions, meet alot of people in the scene, general networking and i get a certification in the first 2 years that the college is open, Its a pretty cool thing bro, you are right that you dont need it but why not? Its a great thing in and of itself! when has there ever been a school for cannabis in the US before? This is awesome!

yah, im jealous. There's always room to learn and you best pay attention when Ed gives his lecture. There's a man who can teach a thing or two. Had the pleasure of smoking with him a few years back at a NORML/SSDP convention in MO.

yea the oaksterdam people kinda frontier alot of shit around here. Its a good way to meet people who are key players in the weed industry. And gives you a fatty recomendation on your application/resume to the clubs.
