I just recently enrolled in Oaksterdam, got my books today and was wonderin if there was anyone here that is going or has gone.
heres the texts
I cant wait!!!! I start in August so i got a good 3 months to learn the books from cover to cover. im going for validictorian.

i live in the valley, ive thought about going. how much does it cost? You are gonna learn SOO much good stuff, im jealous. i have all those books except the busted one. they r good reads, i learnded a lot of what i know from them. Oaksterdam is where i get my clones. I love their genetics. GOOD LUCK with u classes, u will probably meet a bunch of rad people.

Thanks man, its like a dream lol. You know, all the stoned out convos in high school about wishing there was a college for pot! Now there is! LOL
Its a little expensive but as it gains noteriety i can see it going up. It was 500 for the 13 week course. Since i already know most of what theyll be teaching as far as general cannabis knowledge, mainly i want the Certification they give so i can get a job at a dispensary and i want to know more about the legal aspect and cannabuisness.

500 bucks doesnt sound all that expensive. esp when u consider its in the bay area, one of the most expensive areas. i think ur gonnabe surprised at how much u learn. they get pretty technical from what ive heard. are u hopin to open ur own dispensery eventually?? or just work at one?? i wonder how much money those fools make for dispensing my medicine. LOL

how much "expansion" in the market do you see? i think it could be big but isnt the law say something about dispensaries cant make a profit beyound covering costs of doing business or something like that??

and as for a dispensary only being able to make enough for costs, there are definitely ways to keep money hidden

Awesome! That first book I've read front to back multiple times. It's an amazing book with tons of pictures. I haven't seen the other two. Good luck! Let us know what you think of the classes once they start up.

That would be my fear as well. I would think that a lot of us here could teach the classes over there.

had my first day today. it was cool, they got a good setup there, very professional. If your in the area you should look into it. Ed Rosenthal is teaching the hort 2 class! Havent learned anything new yet but but hopefully theyll go pretty in depth.
it gets my recomendation

Yup, I had to move further up north and teach at two co-ops there now. I'm in the area to keep in touch often though. Your gonna love the nursery.

do you plan on getting to know the people at the club you want to work at before you apply, or are you just going into clubs cold and hoping to get hired?
if ur cold calling clubs tryin to get hired, the certs will put u far ahead, sure.
but if ur tryin to get a job at a club u already go to/ know the people there, then u dont need that shit
people ask me how i got my job, i just answer it was an on the spot interview, which is sort of true because i just got to know the manager of the place at the right time and he took a likin to me. and i to them.

i dont need it but i get to hear a horticulture lecture with Ed Rosenthal, ask him questions, meet alot of people in the scene, general networking and i get a certification in the first 2 years that the college is open, Its a pretty cool thing bro, you are right that you dont need it but why not? Its a great thing in and of itself! when has there ever been a school for cannabis in the US before? This is awesome!

yea the oaksterdam people kinda frontier alot of shit around here. Its a good way to meet people who are key players in the weed industry. And gives you a fatty recomendation on your application/resume to the clubs.
