That will get the charges dropped if they didn't read your Maranda rights to you. Broken finger, File police brutality, and search around for one of those lawyers that always says "We dont get paid unless you do." They look for any angle possible to get them their money.

I called the courthouse they told me that I might not even be able to get a lawyer. The judge has to decide.

Exactly, if they didn't read him his rights, then he should just see the DA and get the court date dropped.
As far as a lawyer they can't take that right from you ever.
I would get the DA to drop it and find a good lawyer and sue the fuck out of them.
Then move because the cops will have a hard on for you from then on out.

Well I will call the DA tomorrow but I wont get the charges dropped. All that would happen is they wouldnt be able to use what I said in court or anything.

They didn't read you your rights and used excessive force, no smart DA would take that to court man.

Its up to the judge(not DA) if he will allow it to be thrown out of court.
