Worried about tying her down
    #227404 - 05/18/09 06:17 AM (14 years, 10 months ago)

I had 4 plants going, one wasn't showing sex for a LONG time. It was getting very tall, so I stuck her back into re-veg as an experiment.

A few weeks later, my best girl was ready to harvest (harvested Saturday) and the other 2 plants have got like 2 weeks left I think.

Well, I started flowering the girl I stuck back into reveg in the other container. It was too tall for my flowering room, so I was going to finish it out as just 12/12 in my (taller) veg area. Turns out, she got too tall for THAT too, and burned the tops of her leaves a bit on some CFL's, so I figured since I have to tie her down anyway, I might as well give her some HPS light.

I tied her down, heres a photo. Is this horrible? Shes just too tall for both my grow areas, is there a specific way I should have tied her down?

Thanks for any input! My first grow, didn't get much yeild but I am so happy to finally have gotten some buds!

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

She looks fine, I tie my babies down all the time in flowering.

Yea, I tie my bitches down way harder than that all the time with no problems. I even crack the stem to bend them sometimes and it really doesn't slow them down more than a a day or so. You should be fine.

when you tie, just make sure to use a thicker string. Shoe laces work great. But thread or thin fishing line can cut into the stem. Other than that, just a little at a time. You could make the top touch the floor in under a week, without to much stress, as long as its only a little each day. I trained the one in my grow journal with shoelaces to go under my Scrog in a week. From 22" tall to 12" tall.

The only thing I can say now that I have my glasses to see better is make like a 90 degree angle horizontally out and then back up straight so all the leaves faces are flat to the light and trim the fan leaves in the inner bend so the lower step get light.
