Is this germination technique pretty solid?

Also, he says that when putting the seed in soil, to put the know side up. Which is the "knot" side of the seed. Is it the fat end of the seed?

dude
just get a wet paper towel, throw some seeds in it, put it in a plastic baggy. seal it and put it next to the window. every day make sure the paper towel is still damp and blow some fresh air in it. it's simple.
that guy does have a pretty good tek though

I just put them in a cup of water on my fridge and they seem to be fine.

I wad toilet paper into a small ball and put a seed in the middle. Then dip it in water, squeeze out excess and set on plate. Check daily and add more water if needed.

I sometimes throw the seed off the top of a tall building when it rains, then when it hits the ground I find it, and then I repeat the process until the seed is germinated or it cracks on the cement ha ha just playin all these ways sound good.

Well, I have two of them germinating in a little shot glass in my other grow area (it is kept at a stable 76 degrees). Some guy on one of the Amsterdam sites said that 76 - 80 is about ideal for germination. Any thoughts?

Probably true, but they are seeds they will germinate anyways unless its like WAY to cold or WAY to hot.
