Good thing you said this, otherwise we would have assumed the normal procedure of using the coconut as the stem, and the bamboo as the base.

OK start by carving a hole in the coconut the size of your bamboo be sure to wax coat the inside of the bamboo. Cut hole for the stem and bowl and you can use wax to seal any air leaks you may have as well.

how should i drill the hole in the coconut? i dont have a drill even close to the size of the bamboo. also what would be good to hold it together and keep in air tight?
i got a pretty bad ass idea for the bowl i am going to use bamboo for it also. i am going to basically make it like a corncob pipe. i just have to go get a smaller piece.
