Do they look like miniature mosquitoes? Long legs and they scurry if you harass them while on the ground? About 1-2mm in length?

My guess would be fungus gnats. I get them in my houseplants and weed on occasion. They are really nothing to worry about until their population grows to a large enough size. An easy way to get them to stand still while you identify them are those yellow sticky traps you can find at the hydro store. They trap the insect in glue so you can have a look; they also knock down the adult population which is always a good thing. If they get really bad, neem oil decimates them. Good luck!

Just use some pesticides ever few squirts with water.  They will kill your crop if they get over infested, though.  That shit sucks.

I've had them.  Just get the fly strips from a hardware (Lowe's, Home Depot) or a garden store.  Put it in the closet and it'll take care of the problem.
