we were discussing the proposed state wide smoking ban in Texas.
and my dad said that smoking is just as dangerous as many of the other drugs its just the one that is socially accecptable.
Damn this shit kills me

cigs are just a pathway to a difficult addiction and death.
banning it is retarded though...

Im trying to quit smoking tobacco, its hard, I get very irritated a lot lately and I sometimes have pissy fits.
Smoking is dangerous, my grandpa on my moms side was a chain smoker he died of a heart attack at age 53..I am not sure if smoking was the cause of it, but he wasnt fat and he was in the army so he wasnt an over eater.

although they have a high addiction and casualty rate you must consider people don't generally stab their cigarette dealers or actually overdose and die.
his dad does have a (possibly) valid point though.

yeah sb they go out when you dont drag on em often enough.
Im just annoyed that they support a statewide ban.
IMO it should be up to the business owner,
they argue the health of the people working there.
I say if those ppl thought second hand smoke was killing em they would go work somewhere else

i hate to be a stickler...but
at my school i was on a commitee that was out to ban smoking cigs on campus right next to buildings. Personally i hate cigs, they smell, and they cause me instant asthama attacks. Thats why i wanted people to only be able to smoke on campus in restricted smoking areas, but werent too restricted. But i hate waiting for a class to smart, and im breating in a chain smoking death. I once had to leave cuz i just started coughing so bad. I dont think its respectful for those smokers to be in the middle of giant crowds ruining the air for everyone
kinda hypocritical since i smoke pot. but i smoke inside away from people, and if i am outside, im definitely not on campus by crowds of people.
as for the banning part statewide...i guess texas is just a bunch of stupid hicks that dont realize that banning doesnt help anything....ever. The mexican cartels are just going to start growing tobaacco and we found a new way to fund terrorists.

if you can afford it the best method for quiting is a j for cig substitution.
